Despite my love of salty foods, I do enjoy, even crave, something sweet a lot of time. I don’t need a lot to satisfy that sweet tooth craving, but I sure love it.
Since I’ve been trying to clean up my diet overall, I’ve been searching for easy, healthier snacks I that are quick to make. And what could be easier than something that is no-bake with only three ingredients? Well, four if you count the fun toppings!
HOW TO MAKE THESE DELICIOUS SNACKS!
The first thing you’ll want to do is cut your bananas into ½” slices. No need to be perfect here, just roughly the same size.
Next, you’ll want to melt your chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. You’re free to do this on the stove if you’d like, but I really think that the microwave is easier and doesn’t compromise the flavor at all.
The key to keeping these sugar-free is to use the right kind of chocolate chips. I started using Lily’s and have never looked back. I love this brand and buy them in bulk – the four-bag package – from Amazon. Of course, if you’re not worried about sugar-free or you prefer a different brand than use your favorite!
After you’re done melting the chips add the coconut oil in, mixing well. The coconut oil helps to break up the thickness of the chocolate as you dip the bananas.
Lay our parchment paper or silicone mat onto your baking sheet.
Now for the fun part!
Dip the banana into the chocolate, covering completely, and set on your covered baking sheet. Cover with your favorite toppings. Continue until all your bananas are dipped and covered.
When dipping in the chocolate I use a fork and a spoon. My experience is that a toothpick gets way too messy.
Make room to sit your baking sheet in your freezer and let freeze for 45 minutes. Oh, and try not to eat them all in one sitting!
