Hello hello hello! I hope you’re enjoying your Labor Day Weekend; ours is rainy as can be, but it’s okay because I have lots around the apartment to do, and it’s one of my only free weekends until the end of October, so it’s much welcomed downtime.
This post is going to be quick and short, but it’s important because if you haven’t heard (or seen), my website looks totally different! It was time, my friends, for a much needed facelift. But it wasn’t just a facelift, there was lots of behind-the-scenes techie stuff that went on to get here.
Why I Changed My Website
Firstly, I made the jump from Squarespace to WordPress. Which, unless you have a blog or live in the technical world, means nothing to you. But for folks with a website, it means a whole lot. Basically, the place where I build my site is a different company. And just so we’re clear, I have nothing but love for Squarespace. It was just simply time. Squarespace is more of a drag and drop site building app. There are some beautiful sites built with Sqaurespace, and if you don’t want to get into the technical weeds, than it’s perfect.
WordPress is much more technical, and because you it’s an open community where people can bring in there own website designs and plugins, you have much more flexibility. And that was where I was at – I needed more flexibility. So after a bit of fumbling my way through migrating URL to a new host and setting up my new site, I finally got the ol’ girl up and running again.
Though a lot changed visually, not much changed in terms of content. I still have all my previous categories –
- Travel – The States, Europe
- Food – Appetizers & Snacks, Main Dishes
- Beauty – Wellness (Coming Soon: Beauty and Style)
- Home – Organization (Coming Soon: Inspiration and My Home)
I’ve just condensed the categories a bit so they roll up under bigger, main categories. And I’ll be adding more. More content, more categories. Thats where the new ‘Life’ category comes in. I’ll be tackling financial topics, business, and sharing any updates as well. Like this post!
What about that free resource library?
It’s still here! If you’re a subscriber than you already have the password and can access any of the free printables I have in there anytime you’d like. And fun fact: I’m teaching myself Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop so I can bring you so many more top notch printables. I mean, I have a full page of ideas that I can’t wait to tackle!
And last, but most importantly – you guys. What do you want to see? What free resources would be useful to you? What topics do you want to talk about? What you guys want to see and read is so important, and if you have any questions for me I’d love to answer them. You can reach me anytime at email@example.com.
Until next time…
