If there is one area of this blog that I am not that good at it’s planning my social media. I have the bet intentions, but life is so busy that it always seems to fall to the bottom of my to-do list.
I got to thinking that if I was able to start meal planning and organizing my life by using templates and checklists than I should be able to do start getting my social media set up with the right tools.
In addition, I created an in-depth social media planner that breaks down each post by day, the ability to track the specific time you want to post, as well as indicate if you’ve set up the post. The main benefit of tracking more in-depth is that if you have a post you want to share across multiple platforms and/or multiple times per week than it allows you to grab the photos and link you need once, post it in all the areas you need it, and save yourself loads of time by avoiding going back to the same piece of content multiple times.

Of course the key to setting your social media in advance is to invest in the right tools. Personally, I use Buffer to set up my Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and I use Tailwind to set up my Pinterest. I’ve also started using an app called Preview that allows you to see your Instagram feed and plan it out and many others use an app called Planoly. Truthfully, I’m a little on a fence with Instagram planning; I absolutely understand why a beautiful and cohesive feed is attractive to people, but my desire to be honest, real, and share is more important to me, so I think I’ll always fail on the ‘pretty Instagram feed’ front.
I’m curious – what other social media are you using besides the big four, and how do you stay ahead of the curve in making sure you’re all set up for the week ahead?
